A message from Bishop Cederholm
Welcome to Safe Church training for the Diocese of Massachusetts. We are an organization committed to fostering a safe environment in which individuals of all ages are treated with respect and dignity.
Safe Church training outlines prevention and intervention in cases of abuse of children and intervention in situations of misconduct between adults. It is intended to increase awareness regarding misconduct and abuse of power, outline steps to take in preventing abuse, offer ways to intervene when misconduct occurs, and equip anyone in a position of parish leadership with ways of healing and rebuilding the body of Christ.
This program delineates some mutual expectations for our relationship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. However, policies can only supplement basic principles of honorable intent, dedication, and mutual respect, which we ask every one to pursue as the foundation of all our interactions.
